This whole comment section is f-cking dumb because the video itself is quite dumb, would u say a white man who prefers black women a colorist, i mean it's preference, it's not anyone's business at all, this whole concept of colorism is stupid, google says colorism is prejudice against one's own race, so if i decide to not fuck my race, I'm being a bigot?! That's makes no motherf-cking sense at all

Late to the comment section! (Simple) be who you are, accept others for who they are. Base and vet the relationship that you want to go into monogamous, and seriously. Delusional mind sets are just that; we all need money to sustain us, but it shouldn’t be the leading qualification! Your Character, can you be trusted with what’s bestowed to you! Many will not obtain what they claim they deserve, to busy worrying about the wrong things!

It was pretty obvious during the 80s, but for me, its always been about the music. But after he passed away and I began to read about how he was as a person - whew! Once I read about how he and Mayte were paired, how obnoxious he was to people that he worked it, I just stopped reading about him.

I watched THEM because I saw a clip of the tap dance man on tiktok. I usually avoid horror that feels like it will have a black trauma as a shock value and unfortunately that's what it was. I couldn't even watch all of covenant 1 and had to skip. I was honestly really disappointed by the whole thing because some of it is really interesting. Like I personally really like the father's side of story and how he has this survivor's guilt . I also watched the series to see if my black friend who love horror would be able to since he had a hard time with stuff that delves into black trauma due to it often being mishandled. Overall just disappointed by the series and what it could've been for black horror

Whoever mistreats someone for being biracial is a racist. Every person should listen to what comes out of their own mouth. Do you fight for only YOUR KIND? Or do you love humanity and fight for justice

I understand the importance of acknowledging that all of this stems from the system of white supremacy and that we should be attacking the system and not individuals. However if we're having this conversation in America the needs of black Americans need to be centered because we seem to be the only people who are fighting. And just like the group project it cannot be the case where we do all the work and everybody else benefits while we collapse economically. We are importing other people's problems and those people who come here for resources do not have a commitment a commitment to fighting the system of white supremacy. I need to see more black immigrants who come to America starting more organizations that hold American foreign policy accountable to their own people back at home. Having this conversation in a context that erases Global and National lines to find some share solidarity between black people of a particular phenotype while ignoring the histories of the slave trade and the anti-blackness that black immigrants bring with them. We still have to deal with these realities despite the existence of the system

I don’t think it failed. When I was growing up I saw virtually 0 natural hair women. They had weaves, braids, perms. Now I see natural hair everywhere. From where we came from it looks like it was a success. Black hair looks way different than how it looked in the 90s/ early 2000s. I feel like it’s coming back now

A huge concern of mine is stylists that dont understand how to deal with people with scalp conditions and people that are just rude and shame you for having one. I have seborrheic dermatitis, think psoriasis. Its on my face and scalp and while manageable on my face its beyond difficult to manage on my scalp. Along with my allergies to basically any plant, alot of hair products derived from plants flare up my dermatitis and make my hair fall out, scalp swollen, red, and creates scabs. So i need someone who knows what products are safe to use, how to style without adding excessive tension as im prone to traction alopecia bc of my dermatitis and wont act disgusted or talk bad about my scalp. Like how do you think i feel living with it? No matter how much i wash and condition my hair, i need to wash it like 2 days later which is torture for my curl pattern. Greasing my scalp, as you should, just causes bad build up and for it to become itchy sooner. People always think i have dandruff and act like Head and Shoulders or Tar shampoo will help. It doesnt. The topical steroids and shampoo my dermatologist prescribed burn, make my scalp inflammed AND make my hair fall out. Im still trying to regrow my hair line from that damn shampoo. I just want someone to wash my hair and do two-strand twists without hair added, maybe add some little shells 🐚 so i can feel extra cute😭 I'll bring the hair grease, i make it myself 😭 just dont talk shit about me on your instagram, i tip well

This has been going on since people started coming here. And after the 1800's the white man was created and all those who come here now are under this operation. Why have you not mention this. And when people came they were put on black neighborhoods for the community at large to take care of the new people whether they be from Asia, Europe, or African in the beginning. Our land we taken. The attempt through religion to change a matriarchal land to a patriarchal land. The destruction, burning, and flooding of our land to remove us. The theft of our inventions. The destruction of the way we lived. But managed to retain many ways of who we were. That strains resource that black people did not have but we cooperated. And always unease wondering what is going to happen next. Separating families, Drugs, and more people brought in to dilute us. To erase so that we are only a blurb of want these people want us to be in history. Yes I am saying that because this was done. We have fought in wars for our country. This is my generation. I have raise my children to be critical thinkers. Now we are back to this again. Hoards of people entering the country by land, sea, and air. Do you really think it's to give you a better life. Look at what is truly happening around all of you in this world on every land. Wake up. And it is not to help the humble people coming in from various parts of the world, but to keep up the agenda started hundreds of years ago. To these people we have always been the dregs of this society and many not to be around us. I can go back to words of my great, greats speaking on the behavior after they come here. So nothing has changed. I proudly say I come from farmers and builders of this country that created I would even go as far to say galvanized the world with our arts, our music, our contribution to science and medicine, our agriculture, and every other contribution even down to our bodies. We even welcomed people to add to us only to continue to be face with this rhetoric of who is higher or lower for over 400 years. I can honestly say Black American are tired. We don't want African American label, it has change many times with these people trying to erase us from our land America. What I am alluding to is that this is my home. I love my home. We want the respect due to us. I am happy that my people created many thing that others are using. We want our accolades that are due. I want since these people are still coming here. Take your problem to the ones that brought here. It is not the responsibility of the Black America to take care of you. I want you to take responsibility for your action that brought you to this land and no be at part of the destruction of it's original people. Work with us to make it great. We want to work together. If you cannot do this you should not be here in America and are a part of the problem even if it's done subconsciously.

I have loved your videos and will continue to watch, and will remain subscribed for the longest; but I wholeheartedly disagree with you here. 'Them', along with 'Lovecraft Country' (which I saw at the same time in 2o21 when I was dealing with my own racial issues with neighbours), is one of the best cinematic series I've ever seen in my life. This is coming from a girl whose favourite series before this was (and will always be) 'Charmed' (the original). Other top shows for me include 'Spartacus', 'Dark Matter', 'Batman Beyond', 'Strange Days at Blace Holsey High, Gossip Girl (the original), 'True Blood', 'the Vampire Diaries', 'Dawson's Creek', 'Degrassi', 'Skins', 'Shameless', and a lot more. 'Them' and 'Lovecraft Country' came at a time when I really was looking for artistic expression in the form of entertainment that I wasn't really able to get elsewhere, even when considering the work of amazing writers and directors like Spike Lee. The show is an epic masterpiece that I believe really gave me, and a lot of other members of the Black community, a chance to see ourselves in sci-fi while also making our collective reality more than the figments of our imaginations ⚪society would like to believe and claim it is. I don't believe that every time Black trauma is put on display that it is always for the ⚪gaze. It's like it spoke to me as a person of my demographic who knows the history of ⚪flight and its consequences. I can easily see why some would take it the way you have; but seeing as there was nothing inherently racist about the portrayal of this Black family, and it was actually quite empowering to see us in such helpless positions but real opposition, and how we stand firm and strong no matter what-and even prevail-is deep & impactful. I believe the way they chose to end it was also refreshing as it saw ⚪people being punished eternally for their sins against our ancestors and us in the present instead of cajoling the response of forgiveness and mercy by Black people that is always expected.

Lived in DC for nearly 10 years after living in rural midwest for countless years. Loved DC for about the first 5 years or so, then it started to get old fast. Yes, DC is a big self inflated ego driven work culture. Name dropping is a thing here. The job market is good, if you work for the Federal Government in some way shape or form. But if you do not, then good luck living anywhere near here. Byu the way avoid USAJobs, it s black hole for resumes and applications. My Wife and I were trying to decide to move to NYC or DC before moving to DC. After many trips to NYc, we clearly made the wrong choice. I would love to go back in time and tell us to move to NYC instead of wasting our time on DC.
